Arlington Family Needs Support with Gas Bill

We are reaching out to the Upper Arlington community to support a local family in need. Due to the extreme cold this winter, the family is facing their gas being shutoff and urgently needs assistance to keep their home warm and safe. The gas bill total is $399
Any support, whether through donations or sharing this message, would make a meaningful difference during this difficult time. Thank you for coming together to help a neighbor in need.

Assistance with Phone Bill for Long-Distance Family Connection

A family member on Hospice desired to speak with their relatives in another country and was limited on technology. While family made it happen, this positive experience resulted in a higher phone bill. Seeking your contribution to go toward a $200 gift card to help offset the additional charges.

Upper Arlington Family in need of Christmas Tree

A three-generation family with three children in UA schools needs support to purchase a Christmas tree for the holiday season. A 6-7 foot pre-lit tree would be appreciated and would help ensure they have a tree in years to come.

Neighbors Helping Neighbors

In the UA tradition of neighbors helping neighbors when a need arises, several community organizations are joining together to help bridge the gap for families facing a temporary loss in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) funding in November.

Thanks to an initial grant through the Upper Arlington Community Foundation’s Good Neighbor Fund, our UA community partners will be issuing $100 grocery store gift cards to residents who are enrolled in SNAP at an upcoming Grocery Store Gift Card Pick Up date on the afternoon of Thursday, November 6.

This first round of grocery store gift cards is limited to 150 people on a first-registered/first-come, first-served basis. Should a greater need exist than we are able to meet on November 6, additional grocery store gift cards will be made available, and future pick up dates announced, as donations are received to replenish the Good Neighbor Fund grant.

Neighborhood Bridges is partnering with the Upper Arlington Community Foundation to streamline giving for this initiative. Donations in any amount can be made to the Good Neighbor Fund at the Upper Arlington Community Foundation. When you make your donation, please be sure to indicate that your contribution is to help bridge the gap in SNAP funding. Any donations received that exceed what is needed for this initiative will be retained in the Good Neighbor Fund for the future support of community members with immediate needs. Donations can be made by visiting this link https://uacommunityfoundation.com/goodneighborfund/

As always, thank you for your kindness and for being part of the Neighborhood Bridges Community.
