About Big Walnut

Megan Truax - Area Director

Megan Truax - Area Director

Megan has been a dedicated Sunbury resident since 2001, where she and her husband Ron are raising their three daughters, all of whom are proud graduates of Big Walnut. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Otterbein College and has worked as a Registered Nurse since 1995. In 2014, she obtained her school nurse licensure from Ashland University. Since 2010, Megan has served as the District Nurse for Big Walnut Local Schools, where she finds great fulfillment in supporting her community. Additionally, she has actively participated in her children’s elementary PTOs, contributed to the BW Athletics Booster Club, and currently serves on her community’s HOA board. Her role in the school district allows her to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students and families in Big Walnut.  

Julie Adams - Area Director

Julie has been a proud Sunbury resident since 2016. She and her husband, Mike Adams, have 3 children who are all currently in the Big Walnut school system, at Prairie Run Elementary, the middle school, and the high school. Her husband has also been an educator in the district and middle school/high school basketball and football coach since 2002. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Sciences from The Ohio State University in 2001 and received her Master in Education, also from OSU in 2002. She went on to teach 4th and 5th grades in the New Albany Plain Local Schools for 13 years. She now works from home leading her health and wellness team from all across the country, and has been involved with fundraising and her children’s PTOs since 2014. She is a founding member of Sunbury’s Chapter FM of PEO and is actively involved in community events, along with Big Walnut travel, school, and rec sports with all three children, and her husband. Her extensive teaching background, leadership strengths, and community involvement lends itself to serving the Big Walnut community to the best of her abilities.
