We are so proud and excited to share that our AMAZING Area Directors for neighborhood bridges - Dublin...Jill Kranstuber and Sarah Savage...are being inducted TODAY into the Dublin City Schools Hall of Fame for Outstanding Service to the Community!

Below is the full announcement by the Dublin City School District but first we want to share how proud and grateful we are for the tireless work Sarah and Jill have put into making Dublin Bridges such an amazing resource for students and families in need.  "The entire Dublin community has embraced neighborhood bridges from the beginning, in large part due to the leadership and dedication of Jill and Sarah.  I often tell folks that I think Sarah and Jill wear super hero capes.  They are indeed bridge builders!", added neighborhood bridges CEO Rick Bannister

In less than 2 years Jill and Sarah have led Dublin Bridges to engage the community in driving direct care and support to 4,320+ students and families in Dublin.  They have led the effort to install and maintain personal care pantries in EVERY Dublin City School building and have built lasting relationships with so many key stakeholders in the Dublin community.  Dublin Bridges continues to be one of neighborhood bridges leading communities in terms of direct giving.

Dublin City Schools Pleased to Announce the Class of 2019 Hall of Fame

Six individuals are being inducted into the Dublin City Schools Hall of Fame Class of 2019 on Sept. 13 at an induction ceremony at Dublin Coffman.

There are three categories of inductees that include three Distinguished Alumni Award winners, a Young Alumni Achievement Award winner and two Outstanding Service Award winners.

Craig Duffey and J. Mel Reid, both from the Dublin High School Class of 1965, and Chris Valentine, Coffman Class of 2002, are the three distinguished alumni, with Partha Unnava, Coffman Class of 2010, earning the Young Alumni Achievement Award. Jill Kranstuber and Sarah Savage, both with Neighborhood Bridges, are this year’s honorees for the Outstanding Service Award.

Duffey spent most of his career in the engineering industry, where he amassed seven patents. Many of his patents made profound impacts in the food and beverage industry, specifically pertaining to the bag-in-a-box technology. While thriving as an engineer, Duffey also stayed involved in his community. After a prolific athletic career himself, Duffey coached several sports across a variety of levels, including spending three years coaching varsity baseball and freshman football for Dublin High School, where he also taught.

Reid worked in the Federal Government, ascending to the position of Civil Rights Coordinator with the National Park Service (Department of the Interior) in Washington, DC. He made a career out of helping the growth and development of multilingual and multicultural youth. Outside of work, Reid, a cancer survivor, spent a lot of his time as a Government/Civil Rights consultant, while serving as a Civil War reenactor and volunteering on disaster relief teams. He also appeared in the 1989 Tri Star movie entitled Glory.

Valentine made quick work of finding a way to serve the District he once attended, getting elected to the Board of Education at the age of 19. He will soon be entering his 16th year on the Board, where he has served as president and vice president along the way. Valentine, a cancer survivor, has devoted his professional life to baseball. He started Prep Baseball Report Ohio in 2011, before advancing to Executive Director for Ohio, Michigan, Canada and New England.

Unnava built his own company, Better Walk, before turning it into BWHealth and then pivoting into Lasso. His work in the business world has landed him on the Forbes “30 Under 30” list and the “Power 30 Under 30” list. He has given a TED Talk and has been chosen as a keynote speaker at healthcare and entrepreneurship conferences around the world. Unnava’s company’s first product, the Better Walk Crutch, provided a platform for Unnava to meet President Obama.

Kranstuber and Savage have put their combined efforts into not only bettering Dublin City Schools, but Dublin as a community. They are both Area Directors for Neighborhood Bridges in Dublin, which is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization launched in 2017. The program advocates for children and families in need in the Dublin area, and then charges the community to help fill those needs. In addition, Kranstuber and Savage have both spent time as PTO President and Key Communicators in the District.

“It is great to see our former students and community members accomplish such amazing feats all across the country and the globe,” Superintendent Dr. Todd Hoadley said. “I am confident that the Hall of Fame Class of 2019 will provide a light for our current students to follow.”

The induction ceremony for the Class of 2019 is Sept. 13 at 4 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center at Coffman High School with a tailgate dinner to follow prior to the Dublin Coffman vs. Dublin Jerome football game. Award winners will also be recognized on the field after the first quarter of the game. The public is welcome to attend all activities.
