Opportunities for Kindness

Support a Single Mom and Her Four Boys – Wagon, Car Seats & Educational Toys Needed

A single mother of four young boys is in need of assistance as she works to provide for her family. The family recently moved into a shared residency with a relative and has very little. Mom is currently staying home to care for her 2-year-old, so she is not working at this time.
We are looking for:
  • A wagon to help transport the younger children to and from school.
  • A stroller for every-day travel with the 2 year old. Donated!
  • A car seat for the 2-year-old.
  • A booster seat for safe travel.
  • Educational toys for the 2-year-old and 6 year old.
  • Age-appropriate learning materials for the kindergartener, third grader, and eighth grader.

Any donations, big or small, would make a huge difference in helping this family settle in and thrive. Items can be new or gently used. Thank you for your kindness and generosity!

Booster Seats needed for Preschoolers

We have a family in need of two booster seats with backs to safely transport their children to school. If you can help this Kettering family, click the "I Can Help" button for more details or if you'd like to make a monetary donation, our advocates can purchase the car seats on your behalf: https://givebutter.com/nbKettering

Wagon Needed for Preschool Student’s Safe Travel to School

A mother and her 4-year-old daughter, who recently started preschool are in need of a wagon to help with their daily walk to school. With the cold, snowy weather, carrying her child to the preschool building has become increasingly difficult. A wagon would ensure the child gets to school safely and on time while easing the physical strain on the mother. Any support in fulfilling this need would be greatly appreciated!

Family of 4 in Need of Groceries

A single mom in Kettering is going through a tough time and is facing food insecurity. We’re collecting gift cards to help her buy the groceries she needs. While she’s already connected with local pantry resources, these gift cards will help fill in the gaps, especially when it comes to meeting specific dietary needs. If you’re able to help, any denomination of gift cards to Meijer, Kroger, or Walmart would be greatly appreciated. Or, if it’s easier, a monetary donation will go toward purchasing the cards on your behalf.

If you're able to fill this need, click the "I Can Help" button or donate here: givebutter.com/nbKettering.
Thank you for your generosity—it truly makes a difference!
