Opportunities for Kindness

Family in need of help due to Mom being in a car accident and also facing eviction


This family in in need on urgent monetary help due to the family having no insurance.  They have also received an eviction notice from their landlord.   The mom is currently in the hospital and will be there at least a week. 
Dad is caring for 3 children while the Mom is in the hospital.  Two are school age and the other is a toddler.

Gift Card Donations Needed for Attendance Awareness Giveaway for Students


September is Attendance Awareness Month

In an effort to promote the importance of attendance during the month of September we are doing a gift card giveaway. 
We are asking local businesses and individuals to donate gift cards and prizes. 

Any student that has perfect attendance (No absences or tardies) will be entered into the drawing at the end of the month.

Family In Need of Help Paying Power Bill


Family in need of help paying their power bill. The power is currently off in the home.  A total of $451.00 is needed to be paid to have the power turned back on. 

Any money donated for this family will be taken directly to Alabama Power to pay the bill directly.

Family in need due to child being in the hospital for extended time


A BES student is in the hospital for an extended period of time.  The parents will not get paid from work while they are at the hospital.  Financial assistance would be greatly appreciated to help cover expenses.

Single parent (in an abusive relationship) in need of financial help for her and her son for living expenses.


The parent and child have no place to live. Currently staying in a hotel until a shelter has an opening or other living arrangements can be made.

Mother of 3 kids needs heavy coats for her children and herself.  She is also in need of socks and shoes for the kids.

Help Needed with Power Bill


A family is in need of help paying their power bill. There is a child in the home that has medical equipment that requires monitoring with devices in the home. 
The total amount for the power bill is $366.00.

Any money donated for this family will be taken directly to Alabama Power to pay the bill directly.
