Upper Arlington Commission on Aging Friendly Phone alone Program in need of volunteers

The Upper Arlington Commission on Aging at the Friendly Phone Line Program is available to older adult residents in Upper Arlington who are looking for friendly conversation and social connection.

These calls are not intended to be a space to provide counseling, case management, or health information/recommendations.

Volunteers are required to complete an application, background check and be available for the duration of the pilot program (October 2020-January 31, 2021).

To qualify as a volunteer:

  • Appreciate talking to older adults
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Be willing to commit to volunteering for four months
  • Complete live virtual training (date TBA)
  • Complete a background check

All calls will be made using a virtual phone system.

Anticipated start date of the program will be October 2020.
