Recently Filled Needs

Clothing Donation from Mainstream Boutique - FILLED!

Sycamore Bridges received a beautiful clothing donation from our cherished Kindness Council member, Mainstream Boutique Cincinnati. These brand new, seasonal items will be distributed to a select group of young women who may not otherwise get to experience the fun of shopping for boutique clothing. Following the mission of Mainstream Boutique, our hope is to celebrate the value in loving, strengthening, and honoring the women in our Sycamore community. We are so grateful for this gift and cannot wait to spread their kindness.

Fidget Toys Donation

Sycamore Bridges received a beautiful donation of fidget toys to share with our community. These items have been donated to the Symmes Elementary Beehive, a PBIS "store" designed to encourage responsible behavior through a rewards system. We are so grateful when our neighbors think of Sycamore Bridges to distribute such meaningful gifts. No additional donations are needed, but we are always accepting new items like these.

JH Dance Team Fees

Sycamore Bridges is working with an advocate at Sycamore Junior High to cover this season's dance team fees for one member of the squad. The student is an essential part of the team and has fully participated all season, but her family is struggling to cover the expense. We have been asked to pay $150 and remove the financial burden weighing so heavily on her parents. If you would like to offer assistance, CLICK HERE and designate your donation to "Dance Team".

Greene School Bridges Backroom

Sycamore Bridges is refilling our Greene School Bridges Backroom. This personal hygiene pantry is housed with the counseling and nursing teams at Greene, and is available to any student who may not otherwise have access to these necessities. It contains toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, shampoo, body wipes, feminine products, and shelf stable snacks. Making sure all basic needs are met is central to our mission. Thanks to a designated gift, today's restock has been funded in full. But we are always accepting NEW personal care products to stock the pantries at Greene, Sycamore Junior High, and Sycamore High School. We also accept financial donations to fund the project year round. Please reply to this post if you would like to help with future inventory needs.

UC Blue Ash Grab and Go Meal Bags

Through a corporate grant designated to serve at-risk students at UC Blue Ash, Sycamore Bridges is creating 30 Grab and Go Meal Bags for students who have been selected by the campus social worker to counter food insecurity. For our January distribution, we will be creating 15 dinner and 15 breakfast bags, filled with requested, delicious items. The intention behind the bags is to provide a boost to hard-working students who tenuously balance academics and employment with the goal of a better future. We are so grateful to our corporate partners for this designated gift that allows us to lift a burden for students in our community so they can reach their full potential. No additional donations are needed at this time!

Electric Bill Assistance

Sycamore Bridges is working with a community advocate to assist a family with their electric bill. The jump in electric rates combined with the colder months surprised this family with a much higher than normal bill. We have been asked to assist with the $373.29 they currently owe so they can transfer to a payment plan that will allow for more manageable monthly bills. **Please note we only have $173.29 left to collect on this request.** If you would like to offer assistance, CLICK HERE and designate your donation to "Electric Bill".

Lori Drasnin, Area Director

Lori Drasnin is an active Sycamore parent and volunteer. She previously served as PTO President for Montgomery Elementary, as well as PTO Treasurer at Montgomery Elementary, E.H. Greene Intermediate, and Sycamore Junior High School. Over the past decade, Lori has chaired too many PTO events and fundraisers to count and brought innovation and updated programs to our local schools. Lori also organized a Bedtime Bundle collection from the YWCA Battered Women's Shelter from 2014-2017, and served on the board of Ohio Cleats for Kids (C4K) until taking this role.

Lori holds undergraduate degrees from the University of Michigan, as well as a law degree from Emory University. She practiced liability defense for six years at Dinsmore in Cincinnati, OH before "retiring" to stay home and raise her children. Lori is married to husband, Jeff, has two boys, Matthew and Ryan, and two puggles, Max & Erma.

Lori enjoys serving the greater Sycamore community and bridging kindness across the neighborhood.
