A parent of an NAHS student has recently been hospitalized with significant health concerns. The family is struggling with meals and could use grocery and food delivery gift cards to ensure the family has access to food while she recovers.

Technology for HS Graduate
We have a NAHS senior student who has recently met all requirements to graduate early. She is 18 years old, completely independent, and responsible for taking care of her needs outside of school. Since she will be required to turn in her school-issued technology, we are hoping to try and help her stay connected online. She could really benefit from an iPad or laptop so that she can be prepared to attend college classes in the Fall and/or have easier access to email for work-related items (she worked hard and earned her STNA while in HS). If there are any gently used devices being donated in the community, this student would greatly appreciate one.

A single, older female suffered a medical issue that resulted in lost wages during her recovery. She needs help paying this month's bills.

Driver's Ed Voucher or Free Lessons?
Hello,
I hope you are doing well and having a great year so far! I was wondering if there might be an area Driver's Ed agency that might be willing to provide free lessons to an 18 year old senior we have here in New Albany. Since she is 18, she does not technically need all of the required hours of a 16 or 17 year old but she is still interested in some lessons. She is essentially living independently, and even though she has a job, she does not have the money for Driver's Ed classes.

URGENT Single mom needs help caring for own children and extended family
A recently separated New Albany Mom of two young kids has taken emergency custody of her teenage niece and nephew. The niece and nephew arrived with only the clothing they were wearing. The family could also use some bedroom items for the niece's and nephew's room.

About New Albany
Christy Apple, Area Director
Christy was introduced to the neighborhood bridges through her work at the New Albany Food Pantry. She was excited to join New Albany Bridges and felt it was a great way to get further involved in the community. She has lived in New Albany since 2001 with her husband, Jonathan, and their 2 children who are both in the New Albany school district. Christy has a Health Service Administration degree from Ohio University and an MBA from Ashland University. She has worked in healthcare planning and administration for 20+ years and currently devotes her time to healthcare consulting projects. In her free time, she enjoys watching her children play in their many sporting events and spending time with friends and family. Christy is very excited to promote kindness in our community through New Albany Bridges!
Linda Finn, Area Director
Linda Finn, a native New Yorker moved from Omaha, NE to Ohio eight years ago. She immediately loved the “small town” feel of New Albany and looked for an opportunity to get involved in the community. New Albany Bridges filled that need and she has been a consistent donor. Having the ability to remove barriers for our neighbors especially children is so fulfilling. Recently when approached with the opportunity to become an Area Director she realized that she could make even a bigger difference. Linda resides in New Albany with her husband Kevin and three children Conor, Katie and Megan. Linda is very excited to promote kindness in our community through New Albany Bridges!
