A Foley Family in Need of Space Heater and Blankets for the Winter

A Foley family with an elementary student and a middle schooler is in need of space heaters for their camper as well as blankets to get ready for the upcoming winter. (neighborhood bridges had 2 heaters on hand and has already provided them!) Blankets can be purchased from this AMAZON GIFT REGISTRY and shipped to the social worker at Foley Elementary. Thanks for helping this family stay warm when cold weather arrives!!

Magnolia Elementary in Need of Snack Items

Please note that school will be closed Friday, October 9th, and not open again until Wednesday, October 14th, so deliveries should be timed accordingly.
Magnolia School is in need of 250 individually packaged snacks to assist our food insecure kids struggling to bring a snack to school. Kids like goldfish, cheese-its, fruit snacks, Lil Debbie's, cheese crackers, peanut butter crackers, chips, Slim-Jim. Any quantity of these items would be greatly appreciated!! RHS Family Needs Help with Gas and Food

A RHS family is in urgent need of assistance with food and gas. Dad had emergency open heart surgery and mom is trying to work to pay the bills. Dad has been the sole provider and will be unable to work for 8 weeks. Mom would appreciate a gift card so she can get some groceries for her children and put gas in her car. Donations in any amount up to $150 are appreciated. neighborhood bridges will get the gift card to the family. Thank you for helping.

Power Bill Assistance for Bay Minette Elementary Family

A Bay Minette Elementary family is currently facing a difficult situation and could use a helping hand. Due to an unexpected hardship, this family has fallen behind on bills and is now facing a past-due power bill of $654.85, with the possibility of disconnection. They are working to get back on their feet and catch up on their expenses but could use some extra support to help keep their power on and get back on track. Donations in any amount toward this are appreciated.

Basketball socks needed at SFMS

Student was excited to make the basketball team, however, her family is going through a difficult time right now. She is in need of specific socks. Glasses for Mathis Elementary Student

A Mathis student with special needs and a severe vision problem lost her glasses over the summer. For $175 Baldwin Optical will provide 2 pairs of glasses so she can leave one at school and have one at home. The teachers have been enlarging all of the student's work as much as they can and the student still has to hold her work up to her face to be able to see it at all. These glasses will enable her to see and to learn. Donations to neighborhood bridges will be used to make payment directly to the optical shop to cover the purchase. Thanks for helping this child function better in school!

Mattress and Bedding Needed for Fairhope High School Student

We have a female student in need of a twin size mattress and bedding for her new room. The family has been homeless but recently secured a space of their own. The student would love wonder woman bedding, but anything will be greatly appreciated.
Donations can be sent to the front office or dropped off at the front office to the attention of the social worker. The address is 1 Pirate Drive, Fairhope, AL 36532.

Andy Burton - Area Director

A resident of Fairhope since 1971, Andy is the original owner of Andrees Wine, Cheese & Things. She is a graduate of Johnson & Wales University with a degree in culinary arts, worked as a personal chef for many years and was also an adjunct professor at the culinary school in Gulf Shores. Andy’s involvement with neighborhood bridges started when saw needs posted on Facebook and began donating. In 2021 she became an Area Director and is happy to be a conduit for kindness. Andy has one son and two grandchildren. In her free time she enjoys playing bridge and traveling the world.

Dena Pittman - Area Director

A lifelong resident of Baldwin County, Dena is an associate broker with Coldwell Banker Reehl Properties. She has been a local Realtor for over 25 year meeting the housing needs of the community. Upon learning about Neighborhood Bridges, Dena immediately felt compelled to meet the needs of local children in the school system through donations. In 2021, she was appointed as Area Director, along with Andy and Lori, with plans to expand Neighborhood Bridges to every school in Baldwin County in the near future. Serving daily through kindness is so very important, as we live in such a giving community. Dena has 2 children, Whitney and Hayden who attended Spanish Fort schools. Whitney now works in the music industry and lives in Nashville, while Hayden is a college football player and student at UAB in Birmingham.

Lori Terral - Area Director

I have been a resident in Fairhope since 2004. It is truly a pleasure to call Fairhope my home, I wanted to see this community thrive and do what we can to make it the best it can be. Neighborhood Bridges is a wonderful outreach of kindness to the children in our community, that is all done anonymously. I was asked to be an area director along with two other ladies. It has been so exciting to see how giving our community is, so many needs have been filled already. I am a graduate of LSU, and have been a stay at home mom. I am married to Gregg Terral and I have 4 grown children. I also have one beautiful granddaughter!

Miranda Schrubbe - Area Director

A Birmingham native, Miranda is a community volunteer living in Fairhope. She worked as a medical social worker before becoming a full-time mother. Following her husband’s service in the U.S. Navy, Miranda and her family settled in Baldwin County, where she has been involved in several local nonprofit organizations. A long-time advocate for the local public schools and students, Miranda is honored to be a part of neighborhood bridges --- helping behind the scenes and serving as the Area Director for the Foley and Elberta communities. She is married to Dr. Ben Schrubbe; they have 3 adult children – Hannah, Georgia and Adam.
