Van Needed for Severely Handicapped Student

An intervention specialist at one of our high schools has reached out to Dublin Bridges about a severely handicapped student and her family. This wheelchair-bound student has cerebral palsy and many other physical handicaps. Because of her disabilities, someone has to be at home with her at all times.  The student cannot be taken out of the wheelchair because she needs to be at a constant 30-degree angle so she is unable to be transported in a car. Medicare pays for transportation to and from doctor's appointments and school but other than that, she is completely homebound. The family is in need of a passenger (mini)van (not transport sized) that would qualify to be outfitted with a wheelchair lift kit by Franklin County so that she and her family would be less homebound. This family cannot afford to buy a van themselves. The van would need to have 50,000 miles or less, never been in an accident, and must pass a mechanical inspection in order for it to qualify for the lift.  It also needs to have rear entry capability. We know this is a big ask, but we are hopeful that we can help this student and her family. This would make an enormous difference in this student and her family's life. If you have a van that fits this criterion that you would like to donate, please click on I CAN HELP.
