McAdory Community Bridges

Hello neighbors!  We have a couple of new needs at this time.  We have been contacted by 2 families who are currently in need of support on their power bills.  These families have different circumstances that have impacted their specific need, but both could really use our support.  As we are all aware, it was a hot summer and our Alabama Power bills are soaring, making it hard for these families to be able to pay the entire bill.  As balances carry over, Alabama Power is now giving a deadline to pay the bill in full or have power turned off.  We would like to help make sure this doesn't happen.  We are working with the families to get support from other agencies and will make payment directly to the power company. 
Because this need is financial in nature, please consider a donation of any amount through our Give Butter platform https://givebutter.com/nbMcAdory   All donations received by 9.12.2025 (Friday) will be applied directly to their bill this week to help avoid a loss of service.  

McAdory Middle School is in need of items for care closet at school.  The care closet is a room full of basic necessities that students can access as needed.  You can help by providing new or gently used items to help our students!  We are in need of the following items:

We have a family in need of assistance after losing the dad to a horrible tragedy over the summer.  Dad's job was the main source of income and mom is currently living with family trying to make ends meet and get back on her feet.  While this family grieves the loss of a husband and father, let's rally around them and gather some new or gently used clothing items to help!

Our local schools are in need of Fragrance Free Laundry detergent for our special education classrooms.  This serves multiple purposes and our teachers typically end up buying it out of pocket.  Let's ease this cost for them!  Our special education teachers and paraprofessionals teach some of our students functional skills while at school.  They can learn how to wash, dry and fold laundry as part of their routine.  We also have students who need to be stretched and changed so our teachers do laundry to  keep those areas clean! 

Please pick up an extra bottle of FRAGRANCE FREE detergent while you're at Walmart or Target this weekend and drop it off at one of our drop off locations!  Please drop off items at one of our 5 drop off sites:
