Carseat needed
A car seat is needed for a 3 year old who is around 35 lbs. Gently used-but not too old (legal restrictions), would be just fine! Can anyone help?
Groceries and help with power bill
We have a family who is in need of help with their power bill. They also need groceries. We've had several families this fall in need of groceries- and neighbors have shopped and dropped off groceries for us to deliver to them-and families have been SO grateful! Relief for this family can come in the form of a grocery gift card, actual groceries, or a donation through our website. Money for the power bill can be given in the form of a donation through our website. A member from neighborhood bridges will pay on this power bill directly to Alabama Power.

Weekend Backpack Meals
It's another opportunity to help your neighbors!
Our weekend backpack meal program is in full swing. Our volunteers have packed and delivered meals to our local schools- helping over 60 families who struggle with food insecurity! We have committed to providing these meals once a month, but we need your support to make it happen!
We are looking to provide individually packaged items that are ready to eat or easily prepared. We have a few items that are under stocked in our pantry, so please help by donating any of the following items:

Parent in need of groceries
We have a parent in the community who needs assistance with groceries. If you'd like to shop for this family-we'd love that! You can buy pre-packaged shelf stable items like chips, cereal bars, canned food, or mac-n-cheese. Or you can donate money. With the funds collected, we will purchase a grocery card. If you purchase groceries, you can label them "Grizzard" and drop them off at McCalla Elementary School anytime during the school day.
Neighbors in Need of Utility Assistance
Hello neighbors! We have a couple of new needs at this time. We have been contacted by 2 families who are currently in need of support on their power bills. These families have different circumstances that have impacted their specific need, but both could really use our support. As we are all aware, it was a hot summer and our Alabama Power bills are soaring, making it hard for these families to be able to pay the entire bill. As balances carry over, Alabama Power is now giving a deadline to pay the bill in full or have power turned off. We would like to help make sure this doesn't happen. We are working with the families to get support from other agencies and will make payment directly to the power company.
Because this need is financial in nature, please consider a donation of any amount through our Give Butter platform https://givebutter.com/nbMcAdory All donations received by 9.12.2025 (Friday) will be applied directly to their bill this week to help avoid a loss of service.
